This spring, I started biking to work. After a couple days adjusting to one of the steepest hills in Seattle, I realized that my purse was swinging around my shoulders like a hula hoop. Plus, the unbalanced extra weight was hurting my back. So, I started looking for a backpack that didn’t scream REI day pack. Enter the Swedish classic Fjallraven Kanken bag. I love that it’s as lightweight as a canvas tote bag when empty, but still sturdy enough to hold my laptop and some books without causing me to topple over. Bonus: the Kanken is water-resistant and comes in several sizes and over thirty five colors. (Mine’s the classic size in forest green, like the top photo, which looks a touch grayer in person.)
What kind of bag do you use for work/school? Nicole’s in the market for one and would love any recommendations!
