As college students, we’ve learned to be creative with our (very small) budgets. In time for the holiday season, here a few gift ideas perfect for your best friend, all under $30.
A travel size version of your favorite perfume, so you can remember the three (or was it seven?) random afternoons spent at the White Plains perfume counter. Try Sí by Giorgio Armani, $26, Chloé by Chloé, $28, Simone by Tocca, $22, or Acqua di Gioia by Giorgio Armani, $21.
Your favorite lipstick, Fresh Sugar in Rosé, $22.50, or nail polish, OPI’s Malaga Wine, $8, because it’s fun to try something new that comes fully vetted.
A succulent in an antique teacup that would look nice on her bookshelf (and can be sent in the mail!) Try The Palm Room in Seattle or Etsy for supplies, prices vary.
Matching rings for the two of you to wear everyday as a grownup take on the classic friendship bracelet, $20.
A Garance Doré print, $24, to freshen up the wall.
Your favorite coffee, delivered to her door, $12.
A set of stationery, to write notes to one another, $22.
Recipe cards, $12, so she can remember her genius creations (hint: garlic pasta).
A floral scarf, $10, so you can finally be French girl twins, whatever that means. :)
A pair of Fair Trade chocolate bars, $4 each, made in Seattle.
A playlist of all the songs you got stuck in each other’s heads, featuring greats like Last Christmas by Wham, Walk Unafraid by First Aid Kit, and Let the River Run by Carly Simon. Don’t ask why.
An itinerary of things to do in Seattle (like touring a chocolate factory, eating lots of bread, admiring pens, and drinking good coffee) because you can’t wait for your best friend to visit in 12 days!!!
